Fine Arts on the River takes place the weekend of April 22 – 24, 2011. In other words, the historic Savannah Riverfront will be filled with Fine Arts, Fine Crafts, Fine Music, and as always, fine food and drink. It will be a fine weekend indeed to stay at one of our Savannah Vacation Villas.
Fine Arts on the River is a high-end show. Only the finest (there’s that word again) local, regional, and national artists are invited to display their work along the Rousakis Riverfront Plaza. The artists will be on hand to discuss their work, and many will demonstrate their work as well. Music will keep the mood festive.
In addition to the Fine Arts Festival on April 22-24, 2011, the Savannah Riverfront is home to hundreds of shops and many fine restaurants. It is quite close to our Savannah Vacation Villas on Broughton Street, making it a handy place to walk for dinner if you don’t feel like eating in. Meet for a drink at Boar’s Head and enjoy expansive views of the Savannah River during dinner at Chart House.
Numerous historic markers and monuments are also located along the Savannah Riverfront. See where General Oglethorpe first landed in 1773, and where he spent his first night in Georgia; visit the 1802 City Exchange Bell; note the gold dome of the 1905 Savannah City Hall.
