Meet Your Host at Savannah Villas

your Savannah Villas host, Robbie Bell, and his mother, Helen RicheyRobbie Bell, your host at Savannah Villas, has been in real estate for over 15 years and has always admired the historic architecture of Savannah, Georgia. His first venture in the Landmark Historic District of Savannah was the purchase of the Broughton Street Guest House at 511 E. Broughton Street operating as a Bed and Breakfast in 2000. With the success of this property converted to a Savannah Vacation Rental, he was willing to take on the challenge of restoration of the home at 109 West Liberty Street for a two-year project. This effort successfully transformed the home into 109 West and to what is now the ultimate in Luxury Vacation Rentals in Historic Savannah, Georgia.

Robbie’s latest venture was a joint purchase with his mother, Helen Richey, of the three bedroom O’Connor House at 507 E. Broughton Street, Savannah, Georgia.

Savannah, GA Accommodations for Weekday Business Travelers & Retreats

109 W Liberty living room

Our three luxurious vacation rentals in Savannah also have all the high end amenities that are perfect for Savannah, GA weekday corporate retreats and business traveler lodging.

Savannah’s growing port, thriving tourism and diverse industries in general make the city an important commercial hub on the U.S. southeastern coast. Business travelers to our area are busy folks who are especially in need of the best Savannah accommodations. Fortunately, our Savannah Villas properties have everything a business traveler wants and more.

The central location of our lodging in the Historic District of Savannah makes getting around Savannah very easy. Simply walk to restaurants, shops, museums as well as important convention sites such as the Savannah Civic Center. There’s no need to bother with shuttles, cabs or even your rental car.

Business guests also love our responsive hospitality. If you need anything, such as flexible check in/out times, we are more than happy to accommodate you. We also offer an insider’s knowledge about our home town to help make your Savannah business trip go as smoothly as possible.

The quality of our Savannah, Georgia lodging rentals is outstanding. All three properties are elegant historic homes which have been updated with every modern convenience while retaining their original character. Each Savannah, GA property rental offers comfortable work areas, spacious common areas, top-of-the-line entertainment equipment and free wireless internet. The well-appointed and tastefully decorated rooms feature beds with quality mattresses and linens that will ensure a good night’s sleep.

The 109 West Liberty Street villa is especially well-suited for weekday business retreats in Savannah, GA. The ten-room historic home can easily accommodate up to 26 guests. There are three kitchens and four common areas, including one with a large conference table. It’s a perfect layout to allow members of your group to gather when they want to and seek privacy when they don’t.

We recently hosted a business group at our 109 West property. Here’s what they had to say about their experience:

Our organization has rented the property at 109 West for the past four years for an annual training conference in Savannah. The location could not be more ideal in terms of proximity to the Civic Center. While other conference members were coordinating shuttles or trying to drive, we were able to walk across the street in order to attend conference classes and entertainment events. Besides being in an ideal location for business, the house itself is beautiful and Robbie and Helen are always accessible for any questions that may arise. The décor is gorgeous, and the rooms very comfortable. The house is also within walking distance to spectacular restaurants, the waterfront, and all that Savannah has to offer. We highly recommend Savannah Villas for business or for pleasure. They continue to exceed our expectations year after year.

NYE in Savannah

Fireworks at River St. In Savannah

Watch the fireworks from River Street in Savannah.

We still have room at two of our Savannah Vacation Homes over New Year’s Eve. Be spontaneous. Call a few friends, your sister, or your brother, and plan a Savannah getaway for New Year’s Eve. Broughton Street House is located in the heart of the Savannah’s Historic District.

The weather in Savannah is expected to be sunny and pleasantly warm at the end of the year. With the mild temperatures, why not spend New Year’s Eve on the Savannah River? Savannah Riverboat Cruises is offering several options: the New Year’s Eve Party Cruise includes hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, dancing, a cash bar, and champagne at midnight; the New Year’s Eve Gala has the above, along with a buffet dinner and a front row view of the fireworks; the New Year’s Eve Dinner has you back on land by 9 p.m., and is ideal for families looking for a special way to celebrate with children. More information is available at Savannah Riverboat Cruises.

For an exceptionally romantic New Year’s Eve, try Alligator Soul. The menu is built around organic local and regional ingredients. The setting is unpretentious yet elegant; you’ll feel at home and you’ll feel pampered.

Ele is another great choice for New Year’s Eve, especially if you enjoy Asian fusion.   Dress your best for an elegant evening of delicious food, live music, and fun.

Of course, spending a quiet evening at your Savannah Vacation Home with good friends or family may be just what you need this New Year’s Eve. Cook together in the kitchen, play games, and sit around the fire swapping best stories from 2011. Sometimes the “less is more” approach is the best way to spend New Year’s Eve.

An Ideal Gathering Place

Christmas in Savannah

Spend Christmas in Savannah this year, with your family.

As the holidays approach, many of us are struggling to figure out where we’ll be and when we’ll be there. Will we travel to see family, or will they travel to see us? Will we board a plane, or spend a long day or two in a car. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Why not try something completely different this year? Meet in the middle. Gather your family together at a Savannah Vacation Rental.

Savannah is a beautiful city any time of year, but especially during the holidays. It’s also centrally located on the Eastern Seaboard. If you have family in Florida, North or South Carolina, Virginia, or Atlanta, you can all drive a few hours and meet in Savannah.

Our Savannah Vacation Home at 109 West is large enough to comfortably lodge 26 people. Imagine how this many house people would feel in your home, or the home of your parents or children. It’s better to be on neutral territory, where no one has to feel single-handedly responsible for cooking and cleaning. You’ll all have more fun if you spend the holidays together in Savannah.

It’s a bold idea, but it is certainly worth consideration.

Spend the Holidays in Savannah

Spending Christmas in Savannah? Stay at our Savannah Vacation Homes.

There is a reason so many funny movies have been made about the holidays. Combine travel with feasts and family reunions, and there are bound to be some comedic moments. At the same time, it is wonderful to reconnect with loved ones. We suffer through exhausting travel and awkward lodging situations in order to share the holidays with the people we love most in the world. In the end, it’s worth it.

Yet we should still strive to make holiday trips as good as possible. One way to remove stress from the equation is to avoid lodging with friends and family. Why not stay someplace comfortable that is close to them?

Our Savannah Vacation Homes are ideal. Each has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and parlor, which allows our guests to entertain friends and family in their own space. The people you’re visiting will be happy to share the burden – and fun – of hosting with you.

Cook in the kitchen or ask us to recommend caterers who will cook for your. Invite folks to your Savannah Vacation Home for drinks and appetizers before dinner or dessert after dinner. Host a breakfast. And after spending the day at someone else’s house, come back and relax in your own home away from home. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it?

Our Savannah Vacation Homes are full for Thanksgiving 2011. The grand house at 109 West is still available for Christmas and may be rented as one property or as three: the main house, the Garden Level, and the Carriage House. Please visit our Savannah Villas Reservations page.

Those of you you crave or need privacy may have it while other members of the family take over the main house.

Lounge on our three expansive porches. Stay up late talking or playing games in the parlor. Cook together in the large kitchen of the main house, or call for take out from a nearby restaurant. The House at 109 West is in the Savannah Historic District, where restaurants are abundant.

Split up when you feel like it and congregate for family time in our spacious, comfortable Savannah GA Vacation Rentals. Now that is a perfect family reunion.

Happy Birthday Paula Deen!

In January 2010, friends and colleagues of Paula Deen threw her a fantastic birthday bash at one of our Savannah Vacation Rentals – the elegant home at 109 West. The photographs below were taken by Christine Hall Photography during that fun event. See more photographs and read Paula Deen’s fond memories of that evening at pauladeen.com.
